Sorry All You Non-Baseball Fans....

I'm not done talking baseball yet for this season.

Justin Verlander and Don Kelly - basking in the bromance.
Apparently the Tigers feel it's their duty, their right, their lot in life even, to keep shaving years off my life.  Thanks boys.

  1. Woooooooo!

I love it when new teams win in the playoffs. I also love seeing the Yankees lose.

    Happy Weekend!

  2. I was thinking of you last night when things were getting a little scary in the late innings. I'm so happy for the Tigers.

I admit I'm also happy that I got to make a little "I told you so" tour this morning. I kept telling people that this is how it's been going since the All Star break and that the Tigers would pull it out. They were all Yankees, Jeter, Tigers team not really that strong, blah, blah, blah. They're eating those words now.

  3. Yeah, I've had a few years shaved off my life this week too thanks to my Brewers, and we have game 5 to play this afternoon!

Oh and THANK YOU TIGERS--I HATE THE YANKEES! ;O)

  4. Awesome job last night. I'm really glad for you and your Tigers. Now I'm just hoping I'll be equally happy about 6-7 hours from now. Those Cards are scary....

  5. I'm with Tracy S. Go Crew!

Congrats to your Tigers, Wendy. Always nice to cheer for someone to whip the Yankees :).

  6. Always thought the Tigers were one of the Am. League teams most underrated through the years. I can't say I'm sorry the baseball season is over. It has gotten a bit cumbersome now that they have expanded the season years ago and it's half-way into football season now. I have to admit I just hope the American League team wins, especially now that the Dodgers have managed to give Los Angeles a bad name. Go Tigers!!

It is soooo obvious where your reading mojo has gone--the baseball season has eaten it! Look for it to reappear after the Tigers are totally out of the picture-which we all hope is AFTER they WIN the World Series!!
Saw the headline from this morning's Detroit paper--"The Empire Strikes Out"--loved it!!
Here in Baltimore we cheer for the O's and whoever is playing the Yankees--so there was a lot of extra love behind the Tigers last night.

  8. Meghan: Hating on the Yankees is as American as apple pie, pick-up trucks, and liking the Yankees :)

Lori: I told you so's are THE BEST!

Tracy: OMG, EXTRA INNINGS!!!! Hope you came through the experience relatively unscathed. Go Brew Crew!

Lisa: My father told me tonight he went to bed! Argh! In his defense, he had just gotten back from an out-of-state business trip.

Phyl: Your game is still going on. Roy has held his ground - you guys needs some runs!

Shari: My Man and I decided tonight we'll cheer for the Brewers - mostly because we hope they'll trot Bob Uecker out to call some plays if they make it to the WS!

Dr. J: And there's talk of expanding the playoffs! I don't want baseball in November! They need to cut the regular season back. They just do. And I flippin' lurve baseball.

Barb: It's one part baseball playoffs and one part "work stuff." My head is all over the place right now, and I'm getting distracted by mindless diversions. Uh, like the Internet ;)

And I hadn't seen that headline! SO AWESOME!!!!

  10. Hi Wendy, I said before but I'll say it again. Congratulations.

Yanks were out-coached and out-pitched in that last game. I told you the Tigers were peaking at the right time. Great game. Good luck to your team in the next round. Go get Texas!

  11. Anyone who beats the Yankees is a team to root for in my book. Plus, I love to see a team who hasn't had much success win in the playoffs!!! Go Tigers!

  12. Wendy, we were at a friends house and we were all watching through our fingers! Axford has not blown a save since APRIL and he chose last night to break that record!? UGH!! Luckily, he hung in there for the WIN! :)

  15. Rarely do I disagree with you but I live 2 miles from Ranger Stadium and still have the fever from last year. Thanks to the Tigers for an exciting ALCS. Love those 11 inning games! And I'm sorry that Beltrane was given the walk - looked like a swing to me. Go Nellie!
