We never wore helmets while riding our bikes, and the only one of us who
maybe had a car seat was Lil' Sis - but at least Mom kept us away from the
Drano.
Ahhhh, the 1970s. Back when safety wasn't just optional, it was unheard of.
Happy Mother's Day to all the Mommies out there!

Loved your pic and the comments. I have often stated that somehow our kids managed to survive without seatbelts, bike helmets, car seats, and such--and while I know there is good experience and science behind all those things, they continue to rub the wrong way when we can't take a six-year-old anywhere with being belted in a booster seat. Don't get me wrong, it's just that times do change and all of it is good & bad at the same time. BTW, we didn't have MacDonald's, either.
Dr. J: I wouldn't be surprised if half the toys/rides that used to be in the first McDonald's play grounds are all illegal now :)
