Drive-By Linky Post

Instead of thinking up scintillating blog material, I used my day off today to drive up and visit my Lil' Sis and baby Cecelia, who is now officially two weeks old. You can tell I don't have a ton of experience with newborns, since every time I see this kid I marvel at how teeny she is. I'm not sure what I was expecting. Like she'd be twenty pounds already? Catch a clue Wendy.

Anyway, in lieu of me bringing forth an actual effort on my own, author Susanna Kearsley has been keeping me in library-related linkage of late. Really great linkage at that!
  • First up, Keith Richards....wannabe librarian? Turns out the Rolling Stones guitarist, who has more drugs in him than a Walgreens, is a bit of a book nut and at one point considered "professional training" to help him manage his collection. Full story here.
Thanks Susanna! And am I the only one a bit disturbed by the idea of Keith Richards cataloging his book collection using the Dewey Decimal System? For that matter, Keith Richards even having a book collection? Simply....wow.

She's beautiful! (assuming that's her -- eve if not, I am sure she is beautiful anyway), and is destined to be an avid reader just like her super auntie. Congratulations!

Nothing more precious than a newborn! Thanks for sharing the photo; she's lucky to have such a terrific aunt.

Awww, she's sooo cute!! Does she look like her mother?

LOL, I don't have much experience with babies either. It amazes me how small they are :D

She is such a cutie! I always forget how tiny babies are when they are first born.

Jessica: Yep, that's really her :)

Sarah & SonomaLass: My sister had to take some photos this week for baby announcements and this one was out of that batch.

Nath: Ha! Uh, no. She's the spitting image of her Daddy and has inherited his Mediterranean coloring. My sister isn't quite as pasty-white as I am (she's at least capable of getting a tan!), but she's close....

Liza: My other niece is adopted, and her parents didn't bring her home until she was 8 months. When my nephew was born, I had just moved 3000 miles away - so didn't meet him until he was 6 months old! This is the first newborn in our family I've actually been around for.

Cecelia is gorgeous! Utterly beatiful. I'm jealous that you're an aunt 3x over. I'm still waiting to become one...*sigh*

Your niece is just gorgeous!! Love all that dark hair she has.

"Turns out the Rolling Stones guitarist, who has more drugs in him than a Walgreens," ROFLOL! That is the best line EVAH!

She's so adorable. So much beautiful hair.

Keith Richards as a librarian? He does have one of those cool ladders in his library. Not surprising he fell off it.

She's adorable! What a perfect picture for the announcements.

Keith Richards: Librarian? ummm...can't wrap my head around that one. But who am I to judge a book by its cover (get it? -- I know, sooo lame)

It was great seeing you too! And yes she is little but has a VERY big voice. :)

Hopefully my announcements will arrive today - that pic didn't make the cut for the announcements. I have even cuter pics that I'm holding back. :)

Amy: I lurve being an aunt. Gives me excuse to buy children's books :)

Mayberry Mom: The hair is definitely thanks to her Daddy. Pretty sure me and my two sisters were all born bald.

Leslie: I'm still trying to wrap my mind around Keith Richards actually cataloging his book collection. It's just so...odd.

Marelou: When Susanna sent me the link, that's what she said! Not judging a book by it's cover :)

Lil' Sis: I'm glad I was able to get some lunch into you :)

Jill: Awwww, thanks!
