The conference in San Francisco is now only a month away and a list of authors signing at the "Readers For Life" Literacy Signing still hasn't been posted.
I need to work on my strategy. I need to formulate my plan of attack. I can't do that without a list of who is actually going to be there signing books.
What gives?

Maybe not as many authors are committed as they hoped? Is it me or does the buzz seem a bit subdued?
lol. That's how I usually am about BEA. As you now know.
I've got an exhibits pass for ALA this weekend. I'm still working on my plan of attack.
Wish I could go to RWA this year!
I'm signing, I'm signing! Come see me!
Who do I know will be there . . . thinking . . . Ruth Langan, Mary Blayney, Mary Kay McComas, Elaine Fox (because I'm traveling with them).
I suspect you'll also have in attendance Jayne Krentz, SEP--they pretty much never miss. Probably Crusie, Brockman, Ward, Linda Howard--and a host of others.
There's a deadline for signing up for the event. I don't know what it is because I'm a good girl and signed up early. But they're probably waiting for the deadline before they post the attending authors.
Oh, I know! Hope the list gets posted soon.
I heard over 450 authors will be there! I am going to be in overload, so overcome with happiness!!
But I am so shy, so who knows, I may just stand there in a daze.
Rosie: Prior to last year's conference I don't remember there being much buzz either. Things took off once the conference started - and a lot of people were live blogging. Not me though. I'm a blog at the end of the day kind of girl, assuming I'm still conscious.
Shayera: I still need to make a firm decision on when I'm hitting the exhibits at ALA. I'm thinking I'll be going on Monday. Exhibits Pass for me too - I'm not doing any of the events/workshops.
Nora: I would love to come see you - but dang your line is always HUGE! I always stop by and say hi to Ruth - because MI gals rock the house, and she wrote the very first romance novel I ever read. (I blame her entirely for my western addiction - all her fault!)
The deadline was May 15. I could be remembering wrong - but I seem to recall that in years past the list of authors signing went up sooner? But then I'm the girl who can't remember what I had for breakfast this morning.
Alyssa: I tend to not buy books a couple of months prior to RWA, because if the author is signing, chances are they'll be signing the new book. That's why I need that list.
Katie: It's always (well always being the 3 conferences I've attended) a nice turn out. Lots and lots of choices!
Wendy, can you be our tour guide? I need a master to show me the ropes :D
Dear Miss Pants-
The word from on high: The list will be posted July 1.
Sincerely,
Miss RWA Board Member Who Knows These Things
Dear Miss RWA Board Member Who Knows These Things,
Ha! I knew if I whined about this on my blog that you would be compelled to respond! My work here is done!
Sincerely,
Little Miss Crabby Pants
PS - Thank you, thank you, thank you for letting me know. Seriously, with that many authors signing in one room, I just have to have a game plan....
I'm going to be hitting the website on July 1 with huge hopes of seeing a list. I'm not going, but I need to provide a list for friends who are going, and need time to whittle said list down, so that they're not lugging too many of my books back, and have room for their own!
