I ended up calling in sick yesterday thanks to not getting much sleep Wednesday night. This has been a bad week for my "digestive issues" and they reared up again Wednesday evening - making sleep nearly impossible. Death would have been less painful - I'm almost sure of it.

The good news is that I'm back to work today and feeling marginally better - although I'm still pretty groggy around the edges.

I'm almost finished with Fight Club by Chuck Palahniuk on audio book. I have to say that it has been an enjoyable experience. There are several instances where the book and movie differ (almost wildly) - but there are certain points where I have literally laughed out loud. The narrator's haiku has been a most memorable experience.

Next up on the audio book train - The Sweet Potato Queens' Big Ass Cookbook and Financial Planner by Jill Conor Browne. I'm sort of ho-hum on the whole Sweet Potato Queens' phenomena, but my older sister is a big fan. I keep listening to the audios, mainly because I find Browne an appealing narrator - and despite my best efforts, I can't help but be amused. Besides, light and fluffy is definately going to be the order of the day after Fight Club.
