Go On With Your Bad Self Girlfriend!

Way, way, way back in September I mentioned stumbling across an upcoming Harlequin SuperRomance with the intriguing title What The Librarian Did. Which begged the question - whatever did she do? Well now we know....

She did a guy with a badass tattoo!

And shaggy hair!

And ::drool:: those arms....

And ::oh my:: look at how he fills out those jeans....

What The Librarian Did by Karina Bliss, Harlequin SuperRomance, $5.50, ISBN 9780373716227, March 16, 2010.

Description:
Is Rachel Robinson the only one on campus who doesn't know who Devin Freedman is? No big deal except that the bad-boy rock star gets a kick out of Rachel's refusal to worship at his feet. And that seems to have provoked his undivided attention. Devin, the guy who gave new meaning to the phrase "sex, drugs and rock 'n' roll." Devin, the guy who somehow becomes wedged between her and the past she's kept hidden for years.

It's up to this librarian to find out firsthand just how "bad" he really is. Because her secret—and her growing feelings for a man who claims he's bent on redemption— depend on his turning out to be as good as he seems. Which is really, really good.
ZOMG! He's a frickin' rock star! This librarian is all sorts of kick ass. Despite the dopey-ass blue ribbon she's rockin' round her collar. I'll forgive the bun in her hair. Hell, half the time I have my hair pulled back at work because it's less irritating that way.

Tee Hee - and look at that tag line:
She's got a secret that's long overdue
Seriously, just try and hold me back from this one.

  5. Librarian! And rock star! It's like a modern version of The Music Man! Sounds like the best thing ever. EVER.

I agree with everyone about the clothes, though. There's a reason we have the "sexy librarian" look. Use it, people. Librarians don't have to be frumpy.p

  6. I can't wait to get this either. As a fellow librarian I feel morally obligated to purchase. And it should be available at midnight Sunday as an ebook! Yea!

  7. Wendy, I won't be holding you back. I'll probably run over you though, getting to those tattoed buff arms, um, and those gorgeously filled jeans. And I'm not even a librarian =D

  8. LOL. Can't wait to see what you think of it.

  9. OooH! Yes please! I love "ignorant of your fame" plots, and librarian gets the rock star sounds terrific. Despite the fashion fail on the cover, I'll be putting this on my list for sure.

    Thanks for the heads up!

  10. I can't even remember any librarians who dressed like that in the 80s. The ones I all knew wore blouses, slacks, and flats.

That being said I might check this out if we get it. But I'd prefer one titled "Who The Library Clerk Did." ;-)

  11. I'm such a sucker for a librarian story: DaCosta's In Too Deep, Harris' Aurora Teagarden.

The ribbon must die, but I'll probably be loading this up on my Nook next week.

  12. Oooo. Naughty librarian and rock star. I think this falls into the 'can't not look' category, even if the cover is bow blouse sex on the desk.

And although it is a movie and not a book, anyone who hasn't seen the movie "Party Girl" should go do that, right now. Hot sex in the stacks, and the best librarian rants of all time.

  15. In my Google reader, I read that as "she did a guy with a bad ass-tattoo" and not "badass tattoo"! Talk about your eew moments!

Now that I know it's a badass tattoo, this librarian is all over this book!

  16. The image is more June Cleaver meets modern construction dude than librarian meets rocker. But eh? Who cares about the cover? I'm buying...

  17. Awful frumpy outfit aside, the book sounds like it could be good. I think I'll have to add it to my H/S order!

  18. I think I am going to have to get that one!

  19. Sounds awesome! The most famous person I've met in my library was definitely not attractive nor a rockstar, but I'm eager to read this book nonetheless, lol.

  22. Oh man, this book *so* has my name on it. Even though I'm not a librarian. And I don't wear dumbass ribbons around my neck. Or old lady shirts. Nor do I have a *long* overdue secret. Whatever. I just really want to read this one.
