Good luck!
This contest is open to international readers as well as US residents.
That's easy, I don't have to think about it twice (and pardon me in advance). Tampons!
ReplyDeleteHmm... yeah! :D
Thanks for the giveaway, Wendy.
Yup. Total no brainer. Tampons.
ReplyDeleteToothpaste.
ReplyDeleteMy first thought was also toothpaste, because there is nothing more unattractive than nasty, discolored teeth.
ReplyDeleteMy e-book reader loaded with all of my romance and sf/fantasy novels -- can't live without my books
ReplyDeleteIndoor plumbing with running hot water. I can survive anything except an outhouse during the day and a chamber pot at night
ReplyDeleteMy mooncup. (And I'd really like some modern painkillers too, please.)
ReplyDeleteI agree with Maureen! I couldn't live without having a shower every day!
ReplyDeleteThanks Wendy!
How to pick just one...guess I'd have to go with contact lenses since reading is as necessary as breathing!
ReplyDeleteAs long as the modern convenience would self-renew itself, I would choose my car and the gasoline to run it. I would be able to drive all over the country and see amazing places. Also, guys love cars ... ergo, they would love me and my car since it would be the first of its kind.
ReplyDeleteHard to say. I think I like the idea of toothpaste but was it available back then. Of course, my washing machine would be nice. I like clean sheets, towels, clothes, etc.
ReplyDeleteOpen to international readers - bless you, Wendy!!
ReplyDeleteToothpaste and brush, yes. Though if I was being pessimistic, I'd say antibiotics.
Antibiotics! Since if you were rich enough back then, you already had hot and cold running water. I guess I'd have to be sure to be rich enough ;)
ReplyDeleteA safety razor. No way am I going through that century with hairy legs and pits. Facial hair - well, they had waxes to remove that back then.
ReplyDeletemodern plumbing!
ReplyDeleteHmmm...another good question - I'd have to say the internet & my laptop....but who would I email, etc?
ReplyDeleteThis took some thought as quite a few great ideas were already present--I would have to say that I would want to take toothbrush and Reach flosser (can I count them as one?) Thanks for the great give-away!
ReplyDeleteI think I would have to take bug spray.
ReplyDeleteForgive my crassness but...
ReplyDeletefeminine pads.
No doubt in my mind - reliable birth control.
ReplyDeleteindoor plumbing!!
ReplyDeleteI'd want a flashlight or camping lantern, the kind that you crank to generate power.
ReplyDeletePlumbing all the way. Showers I could live without. Modern day toilets are something I hope to never be without.
ReplyDeleteWOW great question!! I'd want my kindle or ipad but then I'd need electricity... So I think I'll stick with the plumbing cause I'm just not a chamber pot kinda girl.
ReplyDeleteGREAT GIVEAWAY - Thanks xoxo
definitely a revolver and boxes of bullets...practical :)

Tampons, a million times over!!
ReplyDeleteGlasses. Can't live without 'em.
ReplyDeleteDefinitely modern plumbing. Thanks for the giveaway.
ReplyDeleteMy mobile phone (with a never ending charge), mainly for Instagram!
ReplyDeleteThanks for making this an international giveaway.
I think for me it would be either modern plumbing or antibiotics.
ReplyDeleteMotrin - I would need it.
ReplyDeleteRegards, Ruth (CO)
If you were to travel back in time to the 19th century, what modern convenience would you want to take with you?
ReplyDeleteOh, there is absolutely no doubt about it. The only thing I would take are my HOT CURLERS!!!
annfesATyahooDOTcom
Toilet paper
ReplyDeleteI'd take the entire contents of my bathroom kabinet.
ReplyDeleteMy initial thought all involved something with electricity LOL. A computer, the internet... But I think I'd say a camera LOL.
ReplyDeleteAnti-perspirant. And a razor.
DeleteSo totally did not mean to send in my response as a response to Nath's, no matter how cool and stuff she is.
ReplyDeleteI'd have -- absolutely HAVE -- to have deodorant and a razor.
I'd need a computer that hooks into the Internet. I can imagine getting into all sorts of trouble with that, but it's what I want.
ReplyDeleteA supply of my contacts and solution and my Nook with something to charge it.
ReplyDeleteMotrin and epidurals
ReplyDeleteThe first modern convenience that came to my mind was a toilet. Great giveaway. Thank you.

I think I would be torn between birth control pills and penicillin. It is all about staying healthy for me! Although indoor plumbing/toilets would be very hard to live without.
ReplyDeleteI've thought very hard about this question, because I love time-travel plots and especially the Outlander series by Diana Gabaldon. Everyone has already given my quick answer (and I couldn't limit it to only one): indoor plumbing with hot/cold water, toothpaste, tampons, deodorant, antibiotics. But my real answer is a time portal so I could slip between history and now. I'm too spoiled by my life in this century and this country (including all the advantages women have now compared to then) to want to stay back there. Visit yes, but stay, no. So I'd need a handy dandy time portal!

ReplyDeleteMy answer is simply, indoor plumbing. I don't do outhouses, port-a-pottys, etc. EVER!
It would have to be the plumbing. Impossible to live without. But I can think of a few more things!
