I finished it this morning, so look for a blog post on it later today....Wendyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12485867264936716806noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-350052669699480502.post-58914369660034660342006-08-29T12:00:00.000-07:002006-08-29T12:00:00.000-07:00I've read The Irish Devil - it was OK and have...I've read The Irish Devil - it was OK and have The River Devil TBR. I'll have to read that one to decide whether to read The Southern Devil or not. Part of the problem is they don't carry them in the bookstores here. I hate when interesting books don't make it to the shelves because then I'm left wondering how many great reads I'm missing out on!
I see you're reading the Maureen McKade book. Is it out on the shelves or did you score an ARC?Kristie (J)http://www.blogger.com/profile/15743921647882733738noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-350052669699480502.post-3375795912771569152006-08-28T23:04:00.000-07:002006-08-28T23:04:00.000-07:00hmmmmm still haven't decided if I am getting ...hmmmmm still haven't decided if I am getting this... need to read The River Devil first

But the cover, is the pretty.sybilhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11342302708116383329noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-350052669699480502.post-68235760473246615882006-08-28T15:02:00.000-07:002006-08-28T15:02:00.000-07:00Rosie:I was happy that Jessamyn had a happy first ...Rosie:
I was happy that Jessamyn had a happy first marriage (deliver me from romance heroines whose first husband was an asshole) - but found myself more interested in her relationship with him than with Morgan. Not necessarily a good thing given that the book is supposed to be selling me on the Jessamyn/Morgan relationship.

Also, not telling the reader how Hubby #1 died until almost the very end of the book was a glaring oversight....Wendyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12485867264936716806noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-350052669699480502.post-89108568985429532932006-08-28T13:26:00.000-07:002006-08-28T13:26:00.000-07:00Wendy, I just finished this book as well and when ...Wendy, I just finished this book as well and when I read last week that you were going to do a review I was anxious to see your take on it.

I liked the IRISH DEVIL. Not so much RIVER DEVIL or this book. Although, I liked this one better than RIVER DEVIL.

While full of interesting little bits of historical information about horses, Indian history, and the southwestern U.S. all things I like to make a story authentic, at the end of the day I didn't really like the main characters Jessamyn and Morgan much.

That little detail about Jessamyn's first husband and what happened to him?
