So far, no dice.Wendyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12485867264936716806noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-350052669699480502.post-13653243871986548792014-07-03T05:46:47.845-07:002014-07-03T05:46:47.845-07:00The only thing that irks me about this novel - and...The only thing that irks me about this novel - and it's really the trend that irks me, not the thing itself - is how it's the woman whose career implodes and the man whose career succeeds.

Too often in small town stories, it's always the woman who has to get smacked down and return with her tail between her legs and the dude who's managed to successfully obtain his dream. Can't we have ever have a big-city hero who screws up and returns to woo his crazy-successful lady?AnimeJunehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18229748454410488167noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-350052669699480502.post-73468823312037929122014-07-01T13:44:25.060-07:002014-07-01T13:44:25.060-07:00I like the reunited couples stories and this one s...I like the reunited couples stories and this one sounds good. :)Nikkihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04889835236361582323noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-350052669699480502.post-62803846200644438342014-06-30T16:26:10.555-07:002014-06-30T16:26:10.555-07:00AL: Yeah, you have the divorce, but the author rea...AL: Yeah, you have the divorce, but the author really works the "they were too young" angle quite well. It's not like he cheated on her with a series of bikini beach bimbos or like she ran off with a smarty-pants she met at university. They fell in love, got married young, and discovered after the fact that life was pulling them in two different directions. So it works because it's believable and not one character is carrying the load of "bad guy." They both made their fair share of mistakes.Wendyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12485867264936716806noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-350052669699480502.post-62636011952959977462014-06-30T16:23:19.063-07:002014-06-30T16:23:19.063-07:00Miss Bates: This was such a nice story, wasn't...Miss Bates: This was such a nice story, wasn't it? I love it when I find a really good HR title, as I can inhale one in a couple hours. I'm a sucker for reunion themes anyway, and I liked that this was a divorced couple, but the conflict between them was 1) believable and 2) not insurmountable. Smart authorial choices IMHO.Wendyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12485867264936716806noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-350052669699480502.post-75690753508662183152014-06-29T19:24:56.943-07:002014-06-29T19:24:56.943-07:00Well, thankfully it wasn't anything terribly b...Well, thankfully it wasn't anything terribly brilliant. Just something about how second chance romances are a very hard sell for me when there's divorce involved--bitter personal experience and all that--but you sold me this one.aztecladyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14857872357667370906noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-350052669699480502.post-72006611855850878472014-06-28T20:56:18.222-07:002014-06-28T20:56:18.222-07:00AL: I think it did :( Checked my spam filter and ...AL: I think it did :( Checked my spam filter and nothing.Wendyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12485867264936716806noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-350052669699480502.post-83887555501010215632014-06-28T20:30:08.585-07:002014-06-28T20:30:08.585-07:00Did you blog just eat my comment, Ms Wendy?Did you blog just eat my comment, Ms Wendy?aztecladyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14857872357667370906noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-350052669699480502.post-50657059919094002042014-06-28T10:15:37.375-07:002014-06-28T10:15:37.375-07:00Yay!
