Wasn't as keen on the second book, which had completely separate characters and really no link to the first book at all other than the characters were all military. I did read them back to back which may have been a mistake.

From what I hear, the unresolved storylines from the first book get revisited in her third book.Marghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13508430635744720721noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-350052669699480502.post-78246346250411473622012-09-17T20:35:40.073-07:002012-09-17T20:35:40.073-07:00Nath: It is solid, although I agree with what Phyl...Nath: It is solid, although I agree with what Phyllis said that it feels like "a first book." It's not perfect out of the gate, but it's a good, solid read.Wendyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12485867264936716806noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-350052669699480502.post-90825266152213749212012-09-17T20:34:33.964-07:002012-09-17T20:34:33.964-07:00Phyllis: For me it felt like a little too much. If the author had just focused on one aspect (either personal or professional), I think it wouldn't have bothered me as much.Wendyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12485867264936716806noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-350052669699480502.post-70852756231577936572012-09-16T14:08:19.094-07:002012-09-16T14:08:19.094-07:00I'm going to be reading this book eventually, ...I'm going to be reading this book eventually, since everyone has been reading it and it's been getting good reviews. Glad you enjoyed it Wendy and thought it was solid. I kind of like that they have resurrected the LS line :)nathhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02626894830238717124noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-350052669699480502.post-14611406511640718962012-09-15T20:05:25.110-07:002012-09-15T20:05:25.110-07:00I personally gave it 8/10, which for me is probabl...I personally gave it 8/10, which for me is probably an A (grade inflation! B+!). Yes, it felt like a first book and I wanted a bit more resolution on the secondary characters, but it felt like a slice of life instead of absolutely everything getting wrapped up. Just look at my facebook feed - someone's getting married the same day someone else announces a divorce. Someone had a baby the same day someone's parent died.
