Amazon discontinued the ability to create images using their SiteStripe feature and in their infinite wisdom broke all previously created images on 12/31/23. Many blogs used this feature, including this one. Expect my archives to be a hot mess of broken book cover images until I can slowly comb through 20 years of archives to make corrections.

Stange Bedfellows Giveaway!

I know RWA 2012 was back in July and yes, I'm well aware we're closing in towards the end of October.  But yes, I still have more tote bags and books to giveaway!  By my count, I'm thinking there will be at least three more giveaways (after this one) before I can start to reclaim my home office.

Since Halloween is upon us, I figured it was time to unload some of the paranormal books I grabbed among the Literacy Signing leftovers.  And just because they seemed like the odd man out of what I had left (inspirationals and historicals mainly), I'm also going to include a few Avon contemporaries by Toni Blake, Jennifer Bernard and Rachel Gibson to the mix.

Paranormal and contemporary romance.  I know that makes for strange bedfellows, but let's roll with it.

To enter the contest, just leave a comment on this blog post and answer this question:

If you could possess any type of paranormal ability and/or super power - what would it be?

Winner will be chosen at random and announced on Thursday, October 25.  Contest is open to US and international readers.

I want healing powers. Maybe mental-healing powers, too.

Flying. I think that would be super cool. (Pun intended. heehee)

I would also have to go with being able to teleport anywhere, instantly.

Thanks for the giveaway!

Never considered anything other than healing.

I notice there are some repeat answers already in your sampling. Wonder what a psychologist would say.

To teleport anywhere or read minds..

For a super power I'd want to be able to fly. If I could have some other kind of paranormal power I'd want to be able to do actual magic. Samantha on Bewitched kind of magic. I would have so much more time to read if I could clean the house by wiggling my nose.

Just make me a vampire. Eternal life and youth? Sign me up! I'd totally be one of those vampires who feed on the likes of pedophiles, rapists, drug dealers, terrorists, etc. We wouldn't have to worry about Iran getting nukes, I'd form a task force of vampires (former navy seals, CIA, etc) and vampire hunters to go in and do away with Iran's leader and anyone else who wants to see Iran blow poor Israel off the face of the earth. I'd also have them take out Hamas, Hezbela, and Al-Queda.

Yep. Make me a vampire and I'll save the world.

Telekinesis and/or telepathy--to move heavy objects effortlessly or to communicate with others sans cell phone bill. I'll take either of them--and also the chance to win some books and one of those loverly totes.

Thank you, ms SuperLibrarian! ;-)

Influencing emotions like sympath! Think about it... no more annoying co-workers, no more road rage, etc. :)

A modern Vampire. I could walk in daylight. A sip of blood now and then would be enough to sustain me. Garlic nor Crosses bother me. I can read minds and control some. I also have super speed and strength.

That's a tough decision. As for seeing into the future, I can't get Cassandra out of my head--she knew what would happen but couldn't change its outcome. Bummer. I'm also not so sure I want to read people's minds (remember Sookie likes vampires cause she can't read them). I don't like heights so flying is out. Sooo. After much thought--teleporting is much better than waiting in traffic or enduring airports and crowded planes. Teleport please.

I like the idea of being a healer or someone who could bring peace to a suffering individual.

Physically to fly.
Mentally the ability to perform magic.

The noble part of me wants the power to heal the selfish part wants the ability to put children to sleep- not to bed, to SLEEP! :-)

Flying, wait, teleporting. Apparently I just want to get places quickly. And avoid airports.

I'd like to have telekinesis - I could clean my house while reading. No more guilt!

probably Empathy...I'm always trying to guess how folks are feeling and not getting anywhere.

I'd like to be able to bend time. Like I could have hours to read for my pleasure but in real time only a few minutes passes.

I'd like to be able to read minds--human and animal. Imagine all the crime and evil you could prevent!

I would like to teleport as well. A week's vacation would actually be a full week of vacation time if I could instantly teleport myself, as well as my traveling companion, to Hawaii. Aloha!

I would love to be able to fly or transport because it would make my life so much easier.

Telekinesis so that I could do chores sitting in my chair reading.
