Amazon discontinued the ability to create images using their SiteStripe feature and in their infinite wisdom broke all previously created images on 12/31/23. Many blogs used this feature, including this one. Expect my archives to be a hot mess of broken book cover images until I can slowly comb through 20 years of archives to make corrections.

Awesome Sauce Harlequin Historical Giveaway!

I loved this contest/giveaway last year, and I think I love it even more this year!

Once again a handful of authors from the Harlequin Historical family are getting together to sponsor an Advent Calender!  From November 29 through December 22, every day a different author will sponsor a giveaway and there will be daily prizes!  But the best part?  The most awesomest part?  At the end of the calender, one lucky entrant on a randomly selected day will win....

A Kindle Fire!

And since we don't know what day that random day will be?  The more authors you visit, the more chances you have to win!

Contest calender and details can be found here.

Also, the contest is open to some residents outside of the U.S. (It boils down to if you can get a Kindle shipped to your country!)  Further details about eligibility and the nitty-gritty can be found here.

The Kindle Fire doesn't excite me, but the daily prizes do :-) I shall have to visit daily with the participating authors.

Kristie: You know this now means you're destined to win the Kindle Fire, right? LOL

What Wendy said!

The greedy me goes, "Oh, Kindle Fire!!!" but the rational me goes, "Imagine the money trouble that lies in ownership of such a device"

Either way, work is kicking my life so I don't think I'll manage too many stops.

AL: There is a lot to be said for owning an "ancient" reader that DOESN'T have wifi capabilities. Although I did just download the Kindle app on my shiny new smartphone. I'm going to be a good lil' monkey and limit myself to "just freebies."

Yeah, let's see how long that lasts....

(Oh and A-frickin'-Men on the whole work kicking butt right now. I'm riding that bus with ya sister!)

Heh, and I was just dropping by quickly to say that what work won't screw up for me, facebook will (I will not get a facebook account)

Thank you so much for the mention, Wendy!

We're very excited to be able to host this promo again this year. Lots & lots of prizes to be found throughout the month --I think something for everyone!

Let me tell you all, I have the KF and its a huge distraction having all the apps, etc. I'm thinking that for reading I prefer my good old Kindle 2.
Thanks for the heads up though. I will go visit.

If you truly wanted to enter into the holiday spirit, you could hope to win, and then...

You could give away the Kindle Fire to a good cause!

But the fun, as I was always told by my gym teacher, wasn't in the winning but the taking part. (I was crap at gym and always the sad loser left last to be picked for any team, so I know). Seriously, load and loads of different prizes and lots of individual style to the competition, so do come along.

And thanks, Wendy, for the mention.

Hilcia, besides it being a distraction, do you like the Fire? For reading, I still like physical books, but the Fire looks so purty. But it seems wasteful to get an ereader if I dont plan on reading much on there. :/

Thanks for that great idea, Marguerite. :)

Annie, the Fire is a blast! I'm enjoying the heck out of it... it's a gorgeous, beautious toy. It works just like an iPad, but smaller and more portable. Plus as a reader, it really is great too. Fast and convenient (except to my wallet). I guess I just have to get used to not playing with all those great apps while trying to read, lol! (I am now addicted to the crossword puzzle and angry birds). LOL!
