Amazon discontinued the ability to create images using their SiteStripe feature and in their infinite wisdom broke all previously created images on 12/31/23. Many blogs used this feature, including this one. Expect my archives to be a hot mess of broken book cover images until I can slowly comb through 20 years of archives to make corrections.

The Official Librarians In Romance Page!

After collecting titles, and taking all of your incredible suggestions, for the last couple of days, I've gone ahead and launched the Librarians In Romance Novels page! You can find a link to this page in the left-hand side bar of my blog listed under About The Bat Cave.

As I stumble across titles, I will be sure to add them, and if you all ever stumble across titles - please let me know. I've posted a link to my e-mail address at the bottom of that page, or you can always feel free to leave a random comment here on the blog, regardless of whatever the particular post is about. I'll catch 'em and add 'em.

Thanks again everybody, and happy hunting!

I know for sure that one of the Broken Hearts, OK paranormal romances by Michele Bardsley has a librarian heroine: Don't Talk Back To Your Vampire.

Thanks! I've added it to the list!

Janet W: I wasn't sure where the link was so here goes:

Check out The Wild Marquis by Miranda Neville: the heroine is an expert on ancient books: she examines "old" libraries & owns a bookstore.

Three more:
Rebecca Ward: My Lord Lion
Donna Bell: The Scandalous Miss
Zabrina Faire: The Wicked Cousin (male librarian)

Wendy, thanks for doing this! It's a great resource. Librarians (and readers, too!) will so appreciate this!!

Just noticed this because the sequel got an A review at AAR today:

The Temptation of Savannah O'Neill, Molly O'Keefe (August 2010 HSR)

How come you librarians ("straitlaced" according to blurb) are so prone to temptation? There's one on your list w/an identical title, except for heroine's name!

Now could you do a page with lawmen heroes? lol!

Janet W: Oooh, yippee! Some traditional Regencies to add to the list. Ooooh, and I just thought of another one! A Dangerous Arrangement by Mona Gedney!

Leesa: You're welcome! Thanks for kick-starting my brain!

Elizabeth: LOL! I have that book on my Sony Reader. It's one of the many Harlequins I'm neglecting.

The other, similar title is The Temptation of Rory Monahan by Elizabeth Bevarly. In this case, Rory is the hero, and a college professor...if memory serves. The heroine who didn't warrant the title mention is the librarian.

Goddess: You're on your own there! One list is more than enough for me to keep track of - LOL

Wow! Thanks for feeding my TBR pile. I know quite a few librarians who moonlight as romance authors (or is it the other way around?) That could explain the popularity of librarians in romance.

Good job, Wendy!! :) any suggestions, where I should start first? :P

Nath: Breathless by Laura Lee Guhrke is my all time favorite.

I thought Amber All Night by Sharon Sala was just "OK" - but I know you're a big fan of hers, so that might be one you want to look up as well :)

I love find old books in Thrift Shop and recently found LIBRARIAN WITH WINGS - a fictional account of a Special Service Librarian who served in the Korean War. It is written by an actual Special Service Librarian, Marcella Thum, "For several months of her tour, Miss Thum was the only American woman working and living on an air base in central Korea."

Marcella later served as the civilian librarian at Schofield Barracks amd Hickam AFB (where I know live). She has penned a historical romance and modern mystery.

I didn't know librarians were so talented!

Nath: Well, it's out of print - but The Temptation Of Rory Monahan by Elizabeth Bevarly was also really good. It's part of a series - but trust me, it can easily be read as a stand-alone.

Also, if you "do" erotic romance - In Too Deep by Porta Da Costa.

What The Librarian Did by Karina Bliss - which you should easily be able to find digitally.

I have several of the more recent Harlequins still waiting for me on my Sony Reader. Sigh. Including the JK Johnson, Liz Talley, and Jennifer Morey books.
