Little Miss Crabby Pants Gets Her Wee Lil' Baseball Heart Broken

Why yes, I did see the game. I recorded it even. And yes, Armando Galarraga, one of my pitchers, had his bid for A PERFECT GAME snatched away by a blind douchebag umpire who blew the final call on the FINAL FRACKIN' OUT of the game.

Sooooooooo, angry. I'm sooooooooo angry I've had to rewrite this blog post ten times to tone down the swearing and frothing at the mouth.

(My Man: That's it Wendy. Work through your anger....)

Seriously, SOOOOOOOOOO angry. Super Hulk-like angry.

Wendy mad, Wendy smash!

Oh, I hurt for you Wendy - and of course too for Galarraga. To have that kind of thing happen to YOUR team is just nasty.

I was watching live, too. It is so wrong! That ump should lose his job. Srsly.

OMG Wendy! That was definitely more than just a WTF moment. I don't know if I would have been able to restrain myself from throwing something at the TV if I were you. I saw the highlights and it hurt to see that.

*pets Wendy's head*

Oh, honey. When I heard about it this morning all I could think was, "Ooooh, Wendy is PISSED right now!"

I'm sorry, hon!

Your anger is totally understandable and justified. The call was a travesty and I agree that the ump should be fired. I can't imagine how hard this must be for Galarraga.

Howdy, well as an Indians fan I was really rooting for the Tigers to pull this one off...I still think they need to give this guy credit for a perfect game and somehow change the official scoring..what a joke..the ump admitted he made a mistake..so ridiculous..

I am livid about the fact that they can't / won't change the call.

Hello? Does anybody remember the (in)famous "pine tar incident?"

That was "just" a homerun that was taken away and then later reversed and the game was literally a do-over. WTF?!!!?

The play at first base last night coulda/shoulda/woulda been the last out, no need for a do-over. Just fix it!!!! @@

I'll admit it. I fell a little bit out of love with baseball last night. And believe you me, I've been a very forgiving soul the last several years. I've done my best to move on from The Steroid Era. I try to ignore the fact that Jose Conseco is still allowed to exist. And yes, I even try to get past that Bud Selig keeps getting his contract inexplicably renewed. But last night stung. A lot.

In other news, Buddy Boy is not going to reverse the blown call. This is not news, because it's just more consistent douchebaggery on Selig's part. The man is officially par for the course.

But, I did think the Tigers organization handled it well. I mean, could you IMAGINE if this had happened to a Yankees or Red Sox pitcher? OMG - serious blood in the water. Just sayin'.

I've been looking for a new fantasy boyfriend since Curtis Granderson got traded. I was kind of leaning towards Austin Jackson, but it might now be Armando....

Hey Wendy, I don't know if you ever watch ESPN's PTI, but just now Tony & Michael had a great discussion about this, and they highlighted the stellar attitude of Galarraga through all of it. W/ the 3 hour time difference, you may be able to catch it later. Or on YouTube. Anyway, I think it's worth trying to see if you can manage it. Lots of class today in Detroit. Not so much in Milwaukee (or wherever Bud is hiding out these days).

Hey, thanks for the heads-up Phyl! I can't believe I didn't think about DVR'ing PTI. Duh, Wendy. But yeah, anyway....it's on really early out here on the west coast, but I dug up the podcast on ESPN's web site. Couldn't agree more with what Michael and Tony said.

You're welcome and I'm glad you got to hear it. It will be interesting to see what changes, if any, will come.

In the interest of keeping me informed and because it involved both the Cleveland Indians and SL's Detroit Tigers, (yes that's how they are referred to in our house) GG felt compelled to read to me (aloud!) an entire newspaper article about this call.

He told me it was epic. Historical. And your guy got robbed.

Hang the black crepe...

Rosie: The Bitter Bus is slowly rolling to a stop. Let me tell you, the only thing that kept me from throwing something at our own BATV (for the rest of you: Big Ass TV) is that I knew if I did, my body would never be discovered. My Man would have dumped it in the middle of the desert somewhere.....

But seriously, I did have a bit of a mini-meltdown after watching the game last week. It was....a most unpleasant feeling....
