Amazon discontinued the ability to create images using their SiteStripe feature and in their infinite wisdom broke all previously created images on 12/31/23. Many blogs used this feature, including this one. Expect my archives to be a hot mess of broken book cover images until I can slowly comb through 20 years of archives to make corrections.

Super Librarian On The Road

Western romance author Teresa Bodwell recently asked me to write a blog post for the on-going Unleash Your Story fundraiser for Cystic Fibrosis. She thought it might be fun to have a post about reading, and she called on me. I know, wasn't that nice of her?

Anywho, my post is now up and open for comments over at the Unleash Your Story blog. I like to think of it as my love letter to books. Enjoy!

Even though I read the site, I'm not exactly sure how this works. Could you clarify? My best friend died in 2005 at the age of 26 after a lifetime battle with CF, so as you can imagine, this is a subject both near and hard for me.

Jami:
Writers set a goal of how many words they plan to write during September. Readers sign up and set a goal of how many pages they'll read. People can join as individuals (I think?) or as teams. Then the idea is to solicit donations for your "team." Donors make a flat donation (for example, you decide to donate $25 in the name of the Women Of Mystery Team).

There are prizes that will be awarded to participants. Most Money Earned, Most Pages Read, Most Words Written - that sort of thing.

The goal is to raise $10,000 total for the CF Foundation.

Does that make sense? Early Sunday morning and I still need my caffeine!

Yeah, Wendy, it does. It's kind of like those jog-a-thons we had in elementry school but with reading & writing instead of excercise.
