Amazon discontinued the ability to create images using their SiteStripe feature and in their infinite wisdom broke all previously created images on 12/31/23. Many blogs used this feature, including this one. Expect my archives to be a hot mess of broken book cover images until I can slowly comb through 20 years of archives to make corrections.

Flotation Device

Help me out here, because obviously I'm a little slow on the uptake. Exactly who does Avon think this cover will appeal to? Maybe they're looking to attract the long neglected 13-year-old boy demographic to romance reading.

And in case you were wondering - this reprint, complete with Boobs Ahoy! cover, is already available for purchase through Amazon.

Words fail.

OMG!! I mean, sure the original cover was not good but this?! WTF!?!

What does that cover say about IHTBY?? I don't see a football. I don't see a dog. I don't see a will. All I see is cleavage! I don't need to see that. I've got one of my own. LOL

And publishers wonder why the genre isn't taken seriously? Seriously, people.

You're right! Words do fail don't they?

Thanks you've officially blinded me for the day--LOL.

C2: I kept monkeying around with the image, so it probably doesn't show up well - but that necklace Boobs LaRue is wearing is actually a whistle. Admittedly it gets a bit lost in the Mountain O' Mammaries.

Kristie: I was going to take another pot shot at Avon, but really I think this cover just about says it all don't you?

Tara:
Retinas are highly overrated.

The publisher thought this cover was a good idea for the same reasons that some women’s magazines (Cosmopolitan, for example) are always running soft-core photos of skinny women on their covers.

I don’t know what those reasons happen to be, but I’m pretty sure the phenomena are related.

Ohhhhh...she's wearing a whistle...that will definitely help people get a feel for the book. Sheesh.

Isn't this just horrid? I had thought it was the OLD cover....

I look at it and think about sizing bras. It's a hot subject around here. The Overpriced Bra Lady came around to the gym (it's the bras, not the lady, cost too much) and now everyone's holding Bra Parties. Seriously. Makes me long for longaberger basket days.

This woman looks like a victim of a Bra Party who didn't have what it takes to say "no" when the bra lady insisted she try on the Lavender Luv Model.

I was speechless at this cover until I read what Kate R said...now I'm laughing too hard at "Lavendar Luv Model" to comment further.

I'm seriously speechless. I thought it was one of those photoshopped covers for fun, but no, it's a real cover. It's the end of the world as we know it, and I don't feel fine.
