Amazon discontinued the ability to create images using their SiteStripe feature and in their infinite wisdom broke all previously created images on 12/31/23. Many blogs used this feature, including this one. Expect my archives to be a hot mess of broken book cover images until I can slowly comb through 20 years of archives to make corrections.

So I'm sitting at work slaving away over statistical charts and way bills (BORING!!!) and one of our sales reps comes in and says "Guess what...it's snowing at the Oakland A's & Detroit Tigers game! Snow!!"

I thought of you right away. Then today the sweep is complete. Congrats!!

There is nothing quite like a walk off home run to end the game and send them into the World Series is there. Can we say SWEEEET! It reminded me of that Joe Carter walk off when the Jays won - oh way back now. I wondered how soon you would be posting *chuckle* Great video! I was ecstatic for you at the end of the game!!!

LOL - swear to God, that's exactly what The Boyfriend said...."just like Joe Carter...."

LOL - Ron golfed with Joe Carter a couple of years ago. Well - he wasn't in the same foursome - I think Joe was in the one in front of him, but he did get a chance to talk to him. Ron wasn't sure if he wanted to go when a fellow coach invited him to the tournament. I said "Are you nuts?? Of course you're going! It's Joe Carter!!" So he went, had a great time, and came home with a mouse pad picture of his foursome and Mr. Carter all standing together. I laughed at the mouse pad.
Yesterday I watched quite a bit of that game - first one I've been able to watch and I cried through a good deal of it - but it was worth it to see them win.

Oh hon, you shouldn't have cried! Ron would have wanted you to see that walk-off home run.....

"Congrats!" she said from the Bay Area. Because even though I'm "supposed" to be rooting for Oaklnad, I'm actually tickled pink that Detroit's going to the World Series!
