Amazon discontinued the ability to create images using their SiteStripe feature and in their infinite wisdom broke all previously created images on 12/31/23. Many blogs used this feature, including this one. Expect my archives to be a hot mess of broken book cover images until I can slowly comb through 20 years of archives to make corrections.

Suicide Hotline

We just watched the movie Crash on cable. Now I want to slit my wrists.

In reading news - past page 100 of Lover Eternal. The hero is a stalker, the heroine has cancer and all the macho guys say bizarre things like "my brother" all the time. And how come these guys are vampires, but I'm a quarter of the way through the book and there hasn't been any blood-sucking? Does that strike anyone else as a bit odd? And Mary is so going to turn into one of those heroines who needs to "protected" and "cherished" all the time. Seriously, I can just tell already. Puke.

Where's that razor blade....

I think reading your progress of reading Lover Eternal might be more fun than reading the book itself (I liked it, but the names, the 'my brother's, the ending (oooh, just wait 'til you get to one pivotal plot point!!), the NAMES, the lame music stuff (I'm a music snob, and IT'S NOT CALLED RAP ANYMORE!)).

Anyway. Ahem. Good luck. I wasn't crazy about Crash--thought the whole wasn't greater than the sum of its parts, although I love Don Cheadle.

Yeah I like Don Cheadle too - and that guy who played the locksmith was really good as well. But damn! It was so dang depressing! All I can say is if the plot point about the little girl had turned out differently I would have thrown something at the TV.

The Boyfriend rather liked it though. This doesn't shock me since he's a nut for good scripts, and Crash was very well written IMHO.

Darn..I was going to watch this either tonight or tomorrow! Might wait a bit longer now!

so what about Crash makes you long for death? I haven't seen it and am not sure if it's so good there's no point in going on after watching it or so bad it makes life pointless.

It's a well made movie and the acting in it is very good. I just found the content (script) very depressing. Not what I would call an uplifting movie by any stretch of the imagination.
