Amazon discontinued the ability to create images using their SiteStripe feature and in their infinite wisdom broke all previously created images on 12/31/23. Many blogs used this feature, including this one. Expect my archives to be a hot mess of broken book cover images until I can slowly comb through 20 years of archives to make corrections.

Baseball Talk

Well suspensions have been handed down for the recent Detroit Tigers/Kansas Shitty (uh City) Royals brawl. I'm not going to argue much about this except:

Hello?! Carlos Guillen got fined!!!!!

The guy got beaned in the head for cripes sake! He didn't do anything wrong!

OK, so he went towards the mound but....

He got beaned in the head!

Relax Wendy, relax.

In semi related news - the lesson we should have all learned from this is to not f*ck with Kyle Farnsworth. I don't care if he is a hot-head, he's my new hero.

You can have Farnsworth. As a Chicago Cubs fan, I have to say, good riddance!

I haven't been following the Tigers too much - still in mourning over Doc Halladay, although they did sweep the Mariners. And aren't you glad they have a wilcard now? I mean looking at the standings how boring would it be without the wildcard race.

Melanie:
Farnsworth's ERA is currently sitting at 2.50 - so yes, I'm willing to sell my soul to him at this point.

Kristie:
The Boyfriend was rather peeved when the Jays didn't make a move to pick up Farnsworth. The Tigers play the Jays next month - I'm just hoping Doc is still out then. No need for my boys to look like idiots :-)

As for the wild card - wouldn't it be nice for a change for another division to get in the mix? I'm so bloody sick of both the Red Sox and the Yankees making it in the post season I could just scream.

I can't stand the Yankees, but the Red Sox are such a bunch of goofs, I have a bit of a soft spot for them. But you're right. It would be nice to someone other than those two teams.
