Lay Off, I'm Starving!

Lord help me on my misguided quest - I'm dieting.

This is not good, since I love food.

OK - I love bad food.

Fast food, greasy food, deep-fried food, sugary food, chocolate food - well you get the idea.

Vegetables and fruit are not food. Contrary to what "they" have been telling us for years. I'm still not convinced - but lo and behond that's what I'm eating. So here I am staying away from Taco Bell, In 'N Out and Wendy's (that whole finger incident didn't scare me!) only to find myself eating salads. Salads for god's sake. This is what I've been reduced to.

But I need to lose weight - and a girl cannot do that without a little impulse control.

Next up - starting an excercise routine.

Please shoot me. I don't care if I look flabby in my coffin.

I know what you mean. I love BAD food, too. (I won't even tell you what I'm eating now.)

I should probably join you in dieting.

Ah, man. If all the bad food lovers and exercise haters give in, I'll be all alone ...

I'm doing it too -- but I'm pretending it's not a diet, I'm just eating less. Yeah, right.

Don't forget to drink lots of water.

oh, honey, diet's first three letters are a warning! Don't deprive yourself; it only leads to you feeling like you want more of the "forbidden" food. I have a friend in Weight Watchers and it's so hard for me to see her deprive herself and get that sad look on her face.

I used the trick of eating what I want but just eating half of what I normally would and then pursuing exercise. it's working very, very slowly, but then that's good, right?

anytime you need cheerleading or support, just let us know (gets out pompoms)

I do believe portion control works - it just doesn't work for me. I have absolutely no impulse control. I can't just eat "a little" of something. Why have half a candy bar with a whole candy bar tastes better?

I know about the water. It's all I'm drinking outside of my tea. They'd have to pry my Earl Grey out of my cold dead hands before I gave him up.

The Boyfriend is being rather sweet about the whole ordeal. He actually told me I looked "thinner" this morning. I've only been dieting since Monday - so I doubt that very much! But it was nice of him to lie to me :-)

Lilith, your friend is on Weight Watchers and depriving herself? She's obviously not doing it right. I've been doing it for the past few months and I've never been hungry or felt like I was on a diet. it's more about making different choices rather than starving yourself. I personally love it and have lost about ten pounds so far. If I want that really good Dairy Queen blizzard, I just make myself something sensible for lunch and breakfast. Basically, if I crave something, I eat it. I just understand that I can't do that ALL the time.

If you say you're not going to eat something, you'll just want it more. So...I like Weight Watchers online. It makes sense to me.

LOL my intent was to offer support, sorry if I inserted pedicure into piehole. :)

I did not take offense, I assure you. I wish I could do protion control, because I really think that's the way to go! But I just have no impulse control.

The Boyfriend is always spouting off nonsense like "stop eating when you're full" or "don't eat when you're bored" or "don't eat just because you're upset."

I know - the man is just crazy! LOL

lol, yup, the man is crazy. Mine says he's happy with me the way I am. Of course, HE'S the one with the super metabolism. Hmph. It's rather depressing when your husband weighs less than you do. But eh, looking at the scale slowly go down each week is rewarding. Even if there's a ways to go.

Dang, I love food. And I love to cook. :-) I just get more creative now. Made some great cordon bleu the other week.
